Author R.M. Almonte Earns Two World Records in 2026, Pursues Two More on Canadian Book Tour

Two-time RecordSetter world record holder R.M. Almonte displays certificates recognizing his 192-day book-signing tour across all 50 U.S. states and appearances at 64 different Barnes & Noble locations within one year.

R.M. Almonte’s All Fifty States Club certificate recognizes his May 2026 completion of a book-signing tour across all 50 U.S. states.

Beginning October 2, the RecordSetter-verified author will visit more than 78 stores in the Indigo family while pursuing two additional world-record titles.

TORONTA, ONTARIO, CANADA, August 23, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Two-time RecordSetter world record holder R.M. Almonte will launch the next stage of his international record-setting campaign on October 2, 2026, when his fully documented Canadian bookstore tour begins in Newfoundland and Labrador.

R.M. Almonte Publishing has received confirmations from more than 78 individual bookstore locations across the Indigo family of banners, including Indigo, Chapters, Coles and IndigoSpirit. The tour opens with four appearances in St. John’s and Corner Brook before continuing into Nova Scotia and moving west through the remaining provinces. The current schedule extends into 2027, with appearances in the three Canadian territories being developed.

The tour supports Almonte’s metaphysical science-fiction novel Fogs of Time and expands the campaign that previously took him to all 50 U.S. states. The Canadian phase is being structured around what Almonte describes as his third and fourth world-record pursuits:

Completing a documented bookstore-signing tour across all 10 Canadian provinces and three territories.

Pursuing the proposed RecordSetter title Most Corporate-Owned Chain Bookstore Locations Visited for Book Signings in One Year through appearances across the Indigo family.

Both are active record pursuits—not completed or certified achievements. Their final titles, rules, qualifying requirements and verification remain subject to RecordSetter’s review. Each Canadian appearance will generate a detailed evidence trail that includes bookstore communications, dated appearances, photographs, video footage, travel documentation and other supporting records.

What Authors Hold World Records?
Authors have earned world records across many literary categories. Guinness World Records recognizes Agatha Christie as the best-selling fiction author, with an estimated two billion copies sold; L. Ron Hubbard for the most published works by one author, with 1,084; and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry for the most translations of the same book, with Le Petit Prince translated into 382 languages and dialects.

Hubbard was awarded four Guinness World Records connected to publishing, translation and audiobook production, although some have since been surpassed. Guinness does not maintain a formal category for the “most world records held by an author,” but Almonte views Hubbard’s four-record achievement as a personal literary benchmark.

“I am firm about where this is going,” said Almonte. “My goal is to earn at least five legitimate, independently verified world-record titles connected directly to my work as an author. Canada is the next step, followed by Iceland, Scandinavia and other regions of the world. I see this as a long-term body of work, built one documented achievement at a time.”

R.M. Almonte’s Two World Records Verified by RecordSetter.

Almonte enters the Canadian tour with two completed records verified by RecordSetter. He earned the title Fastest Time to Complete a Book Signing Tour in All 50 U.S. States by finishing the tour in 192 days, beginning November 12, 2025, and completing the final state on May 23, 2026. The achievement required him to travel across the continental United States while also reaching Alaska and Hawaii within the same documented campaign.

He separately earned the title Most Barnes & Noble Book Signing Locations Visited in One Year after completing appearances at 64 different Barnes & Noble stores between November 13, 2025, and May 16, 2026. Unlike the first record, this achievement measured the number of unique bookstore locations visited rather than the number of states completed.

If all confirmed Canadian appearances are completed and accepted as qualifying events, the new schedule will exceed that 64-store benchmark while supporting Almonte’s proposed broader corporate-chain category.

The All Fifty Club also lists Almonte in its Arts and Entertainment record-holder section under “Book Tour to All 50 States,” documenting his May 2026 completion in 192 days. Almonte is currently the only author listed in that specific book-tour category.

Before selecting a verification organization for the next phase, Almonte’s team submitted its proposed categories to both Guinness World Records and RecordSetter.

“We approached both organizations because we wanted to understand which process would be the best fit for a campaign built around dozens of separate bookstore appearances,” said Almonte. “RecordSetter responded first and offered the direct, collaborative relationship we were looking for. Their willingness to work with us on the rules, documentation and evidence process made them the right fit for this campaign. It was a decision based on responsiveness and the support we needed—not a criticism of Guinness World Records.”

The Canadian journey is also being filmed for a documentary now in development. The project will combine material from the completed U.S. tour with footage from Canada, following the travel, planning, bookstore logistics, reader encounters, setbacks and evidence-gathering required to pursue multiple records on the road.

Almonte is also writing a new book titled Are You a Local Author? The book will provide a behind-the-scenes account of the campaign, including approximately 600 rejections, months of bookstore outreach, route changes, long-distance travel, documentation requirements and unexpected obstacles. It will also explore the personal determination required to complete two verified U.S. records and prepare for the Canadian pursuits. Publication details will be announced separately.
