The Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority’s 2026 Foundational Technical Assistance workshops will help farmers, makers, small-business owners, cultural practitioners and nonprofits explore opportunities in the visitor industry.

The workshops welcome beginners and those looking to expand their work with visitors. Offered in partnership with Kilohana Collective, a division of Hawaiian Council, the two-day workshops will cover how to:

•   Reach visitors and understand what influences their decisions
•   Communicate why a product or experience is worth choosing
•   Develop offerings that reflect their community and culture
•   Set prices that sustain their work

Industry panels, hands-on activities and networking opportunities will give participants time to ask questions, develop their ideas and connect with local businesses and visitor industry professionals. Returning participants can look forward to new content, speakers and activities.

Workshop dates and locations:

•   Oʻahu: Nov. 13-14 at the East-West Center in Honolulu.
•   Hawaiʻi Island: Nov. 20 at Laʻiʻōpua 2020 in Kailua-Kona and Nov. 21 at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo.
•   Kauaʻi: Dec. 4-5 in Līhuʻe. Venue to be announced.

Workshops run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Registration costs $80 for both days or $45 for one day, plus tax. Breakfast and lunch are included. Participants may attend one or both days. (The Maui workshops were on Oct. 30 and 31 in Wailuku.)

Space for future workshops are limited. Learn more and register at regenerativetourismhawaii.info/foundational.

Travel scholarships may be available for attendees from Lānaʻi and Molokaʻi. For scholarship details or questions, email [email protected].
